Bullshit: PETA stop littering!
So I just found a flyer on my doorstep. It says "Roadside Hellholes" and it has pictures of a black bear and a monkey in a cage. Open up the flyer and there are more pictures (a sad gorilla gazing out through bars, lions in a cage, some monkeys) and the caption at the top of the page reads WHAT YOU WILL SEE WILL BREAK YOUR HEART. At the bottom of the flyer is a Toronto Sun columnist saying "Picture a mental hospital in Victorian England complete with blood-curdling, relentless screams."
What you can do to help the animals, says PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals): 1. Never pay a visit to a roadside zoo. 2. Write a letter to newspapers, Chamber of Commerce, etc to voice your opinion about roadside zoos.
Okay, look PETA...what the hell is a roadside zoo? I've never seen one. Has anybody seen a raodside zoo in Northern California? Whoever left this flyer on my doorstep has got to know that the only friggin zoos in this area are the Oakland Zoo and the San Francisco Zoo (both of which, as zoos go, seem pretty friggin awesome) and the Alexander Lindsey Museum, an amazing place which cares for animals while it educates the public about conservation. So who am I trying to shut down?
Either this is 1) a way for PETA to get its name out there in a positive light...like me handing out flyers saying "DON'T SUPPORT HITTING PEOPLE IN THE KNEES WITH BASEBALL BATS--HORRIFIC SCREAMS!" or 2) PETA actually wants to shut down major zoos--ALL major zoos. In both cases, PETA is full of it.
Look PETA, I saw Penn and Teller's show on Showtime called BULLSHIT. They told me all about you...about how your CEO is a fanatic, about how you equate imprisoned animals with humans in the Holocaust, about how you preach that all animal testing and products (even medicine) derived from animals is like unholy water (even though your officers use these medicines themselves), and about how PETA condones arson and fear-evoking tactics to get "the job" done. And you know what? Penn and Teller told all this to me while doing cool magic tricks. And they didn't leave a friggin flyer on my doorstep. How many trees, PETA, were cut down to support your littering of doorsteps, huh? How many squirrels and birds and rabbits who have learned how to climb trees are now without a home? What about THAT?! You know where all those animals are, I bet? Either dead or in ZOOS, you stupid PETA people!
So keep your trash to yourself. I'm going to write a letter to Penn and Teller and tell them to do another show on you. And I bet they will. Why? Because Penn gave his daughter the middle name of "crime-fighter." How cool is that? That sounds a lot better than "Free Willy." Stop littering my neighborhood!

hey, I'm a student at school right now, trying to figure out ways that we as a community can stop littering. Can you give me any ideas?
Penn & Teller is the ultimate propaganda - actually having the hide to go against others for... well... propaganda!
It's a shame you talk of so openly "listening" to them, without being able to see through their in-your-face attitude (which is deigned to overpower your reasoin that, heaven forbid, can see through what they're really doing).
That show was full of rubbish. They choose silly, extreme people and put them forward as representatives of the cause. And then, it outright lies. Peta does NOT say we are not allowed to have pets. Yet, after showing a clip where she does NOT say this, they announce, "See? We can't have pets", when they are not at all referring to pets, but animals in zoo situations, livestock industries, and research labs, etc. But you're so dazzled by the rhetoric, you cant see that. Or that the animals they put down, they do so because they are abused animals who have no hope, so yes, they see that as the best option if abused animals cannot be adequately saved. But P&T use this as some sort of accusation of hypocricy. And to align the peopl who support her with nazis and terrorists? This is propaganda at its best.
I'm no PETA member, and have no particular connection to the cause either way, but I know bullshit when I see it, and Penn and Teller's show is aptly named.
1) Of course Penn and Teller are going to find the craziest $#%! they can find to make their job eaiser. It's a TV show meant to semi-educate and mostly entertain...kind of like blogs.
2) What about the crazy $%#^! that left the stupid flyer on my doorstep, huh? I suppose that dude is one of the "extreme" PETA members too. The rest are all fully socialized, reality-based members of our society for sure.
3) Mom, if you are going to continue to leave me anonymous posts could you at least stop leaving friggin PETA flyers on my doorstep?! I EAT MEAT! DEAL WITH IT!
I have recently seen the same episode of Penn & teller bullshit. While you may say that its the "ultimate propaganda" showing only the most extreme people and taking things out of context. P.E.T.A. does the exact same thing. Showing only the most extreme images of animal abuse and implying that it is occurring almost everywhere.
It's a basic political tactic used by most activist groups to gain support from the public, watch any commercial for most charities or rights group and you'll find the same thing. Pictures of starving kid's in Africa is a good example. Why should it not be used to shock people in a manner against P.E.T.A.
Even when you look past Penn & Tellers in your face and comedic attitude and look at just the facts that they present us with you can still clearly see P.E.T.A.'s downfalls. I'm All for animal rights, But completely against P.E.T.A.

Pound takes dogs and other animals off the streets - no one adopts them - animals gonna be put down - peta "saves" them - 2 thirds of the majority saved is killed by peta by a non-painful injection (which is what the pound does)

PETA and the HSUS are not what they claim to be. They believe in total animal liberation which means that they think that there should be no circuses, zoos (even AZA), laboratories (even medical), farms, service dogs, police dogs, and PETS of any kind. They believe that animals are better off DEAD then living with even the best pet owner.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) collected millions of dollars from individuals to save the animals during Katrina. They did not use the money to do that though. They are currently under investigation for it. What most people do not realize about HSUS is that they are not your local animal shelter. None of the money that they raise goes to the local animal shelter. It has also been provened that PETA uses its money to kill animals and support terrorist groups like the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) who has a tendency to blow up buildings to get their point across.
I am not saying that you shouldn't neuter/spay your pet, I am just saying that the choose should be up to the owner and not animal rights extremists. Groups like these are mislabeling breeders and passing mandatory spay/neutered laws as part of their total animal liberation plan.

It seems like you're not looking at all sides here. You think you're right, so then you are. Being closed minded doesn't help anything.
PETA fights for what they believe in. I'm a big supporter and I'm a vegetarian [[ex-vegan]] and I understand people eat meat and it's okay it's just the cruelty aspect.
So just relax.
Take a chill pill.
And stop yelling.

well my name is daniel and im a kid that goes to saint benards and im in grade 10 im fat and i eat a lot but i dont go littering i like food but i also like the environment so help it stay alive. i eat pies every lunch but i dont dump my wrappers so help us keep the environment a good one
What about the cruelty to plants? Farmers run machines all over them and yet no one cares about them being harmed while they're alive. Plants have feelings too....well, not after I eat them.

PETA Want's control of everything with animal's......WHat alot of u don't know is that PETA is going into school's an urging ur children Not to eat meat or go to circus or zoo's an what they do is make the children watch video of animal's being slaughterd an beat all wich has been edited by peta an set up....PETA MAKES million's an they do not spend it on animal's
